OblinEngine is currently at TRL 5. The next development stage is an integrated Australian demonstrator designed to progress the technology from TRL 5 to TRL 6 through instrumented testing and independent technical assessment.
The immediate development objective is to move OblinEngine from its existing TRL 5 position into an integrated Australian demonstration capable of generating the evidence required for progression to TRL 6.
The existing TRL 5 evidence has been generated through completed shallow hydraulic testing and deep-shaft testing of the core hydraulic uplift mechanism.
The proposed TRL 6 demonstrator will integrate the principal system elements and measure performance across the complete energy pathway, including compressor input, air delivery, hydraulic uplift, turbine-generator output, auxiliary loads, instrumentation and controls.

We welcome technically serious enquiries from organisations capable of contributing to the integrated Australian demonstration program.
Deep-bore infrastructure, compressed-air systems, hydraulic equipment, turbine-generator systems, electrical integration and balance-of-plant engineering.
Instrumentation, electrical metering, pressure and flow measurement, data acquisition, Modbus integration, controls and repeatability testing.
Independent technical review of the test methodology, instrumentation, recorded evidence and technology-readiness progression.
OblinEngine is not represented as already being at TRL 6.
The purpose of the Australian demonstrator is to generate measured, integrated system evidence and determine whether the resulting data supports progression from the existing TRL 5 position to TRL 6.
Net electrical output, auxiliary consumption, repeatability and integrated round-trip efficiency remain subjects for the proposed demonstrator.
We welcome discussions with engineering organisations, equipment suppliers, technical assessors and funding bodies relevant to the next-stage Australian integrated demonstrator.
